Project Summary:

In my Interface Design class, I and my groupmates were tasked with creating an internship website tailored towards college students. Through creating this website, we had to create a brand identity and set certain guidelines for our website such as the color palette. Reviewing over known internship websites such as Handshake and ZipRecruiter we as a group decided to do a mix of both in our website design. The final product came out to be a useable website for college students that no only helped them find internships but also provide resources to improve their professional skillset. It also provides employers a way to find eligible candidates by having them upload their own listings. This project took about a week to complete with the group committing several hours of ideation. The hardest part of this project was being able to put our own biases aside to create a product tailored towards our target audience, college students. 

Project Analysis:

In the creation of this project our group effectively created our own brand for a college internship website. In my success, I effectively took inspiration from other websites and combined elements in order to create the website. I also explained these findings to my groupmates as well in order to ensure we were all on the same page. We made sure to set goals for ourselves to complete this project on time and ensure every requirement was checked off. Our group also conducted user interviews previous to starting our prototype. We had users review our previous websites to figure out our flaws and ensure we didn't make the same mistakes on this creation. From this creation I was able to learn the importance of pagination, we knew this website would involve a lot of information. Therefore we used pagination to break down large sets of information into manageable sections. This helps avoid overwhelming the user, along with helping us create the design more simple. I was also able to improve my skills utilizing AdobeXD by leading how to create a drop down menu that was clickable. This opens my eyes to more opportunities to improve my skills in AdobeXD in order to become an expert with the interface. Working on this also helps with being able to improve some of my previous projects such as a website for the Bollywood Grill. I am to use this project as something to branch off of with new websites I create and ensure my designs are consistent and useable.
